REMOTE RETREATS
Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 21 June 2026
Please read these terms carefully before you buy. They tell you who we are, what you are buying, how and when you can change your mind, and how you may use the materials. By placing an order you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not place an order.
1. Who we are and how to reach us
Remote Retreats is operated by Tamsin Acheson Coaching & Consulting, of Waters Edge, Lower Burlington Road, Portishead, BS20 7AS. You can contact us by email at [email protected]. We use this address for orders, cancellations, and any problem with access to what you have bought.
Our website is remoteretreat.co.uk. These terms apply to that site and to any subdomain we use to sell or deliver our retreats.
2. About these terms
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the agreement between you and us. They replace anything said or written before you ordered.
We may change these terms from time to time, for example to reflect a change in the law or in how we deliver our retreats. The version that applies to your order is the one in place on the day you bought. We will post any changes on this page.
3. Who can buy
You must be at least 18 years old to buy from us, and by ordering you confirm that you are. Our retreats are offered to customers in the United Kingdom, and we accept orders on that basis.
4. What you are buying
We sell self-guided digital retreats. Each retreat is delivered as written material and audio that you access privately and work through in your own time. There is no group, no live session, and no personal contact as part of the product.
The digital retreat: The standard format is digital. When you buy, you receive access to the written retreat and its audio through a private delivery page.
The printed workbook: You may choose to add a printed workbook at checkout. The printed workbook is posted to you. Choosing it does not change how the digital retreat is delivered: you still receive the same digital and audio access through the delivery page, because the audio lives there and is not part of the printed workbook.
The taster: We may offer a free taster. Where we do, it is provided to you at no cost and these terms still apply to how you may use it.
5. Your order and when the contract starts
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. We accept your order, and the contract between us begins, when we send you confirmation of your purchase by email. If for any reason we cannot fulfil your order, we will tell you and refund any payment in full.
6. Price and payment
The price of each retreat, and of the optional printed workbook, is shown at checkout. Payment is taken at the time you order, through our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details. Our prices are in pounds sterling. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to the price you see.
If a price is shown in error and the mistake is one you could reasonably have noticed, we do not have to sell at the wrong price. If this happens, we will tell you before your order is confirmed.
7. Delivery and access
The digital retreat and audio are made available to you straight after your purchase is confirmed, through the private delivery page. Access is automated. If the materials do not reach you, email us at [email protected] and we will put it right.
If you ordered the printed workbook, we will post it to the address you gave at checkout, normally within 5 working days. We post printed workbooks to addresses in the United Kingdom only.
8. Your right to change your mind
If you are buying as a consumer, for purposes mainly outside a business, you have rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. How they apply depends on what you bought.
The digital retreat and audio: The retreat and audio are digital content delivered immediately. When you buy, you ask us to make them available to you straight away, and you agree that once you access or download them you lose the right to cancel and be refunded for the digital content. Until you have accessed or downloaded them, you may cancel within 14 days of your order and receive a full refund of the digital element.
The printed workbook: The printed workbook is an optional add-on at checkout, and it is a physical product, so you keep the full 14-day right to change your mind about it. You have 14 days from the day you receive it to cancel. To do so, email us at [email protected] or use the cancellation form at the end of these terms, then return the workbook to us unused and in resaleable condition. We will refund what you paid for the workbook within 14 days of receiving it back, or of your proof that you have sent it. You pay the cost of returning it, unless it is faulty or not as described.
Your digital retreat is a separate part of the same order. Returning the workbook does not affect it, so you keep your access to the digital retreat and audio, and the amount you paid for the digital retreat is not refunded once you have accessed it.
9. If something is wrong
You have legal rights if the materials or the printed workbook are faulty or not as described, and nothing in these terms affects those rights. If something is faulty or not as described, we will refund it in full, including any delivery cost, along with any reasonable cost of returning a faulty workbook.
If you have a problem accessing what you bought, email us at [email protected] and we will resolve it. You can get free advice on your rights from Citizens Advice.
10. How you may use the materials
We own all intellectual property rights in our retreats, workbooks, audio, and website, and in the material in them.
These works are protected by copyright.
When you buy, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the materials for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, share, resell, distribute, publish, broadcast, adapt, or make recordings of any part of them, in any format, and you may not pass your access to anyone else.
If you use the materials in breach of this licence, your right to use them ends at once, and we may take action to protect our rights, which can include claiming damages and our legal costs.
11. Who these retreats are for, and your wellbeing
Our retreats are structured reflective experiences for emotionally stable adults who want deeper self-awareness and more conscious, grounded change. They are provided for general wellbeing and educational purposes. They are not therapy, counselling, coaching, psychiatric treatment, crisis support, or medical care, and they are not a substitute for advice or treatment from a qualified professional.
The work is honest and self-directed. It can involve reflection, journalling, emotional honesty, and looking at patterns you may have set aside, so at times it may feel uncomfortable or emotionally activating. That is a normal part of slowing down and paying attention, and the retreats are designed with pacing, grounding, and containment in mind. You take part in your own time and at your own pace, and you may pause, skip, or stop any part at any time.
Because the retreats are self-directed and you take part without any contact from us, you are the right person to judge whether this kind of reflective work is suitable for you at this time. They are probably not the right choice for you at the moment if you are in acute emotional distress or crisis, currently experiencing severe depression, psychosis, mania, dissociation, or active addiction, or under psychiatric care for a condition that is not stable. If you are receiving treatment or support for your mental health, or you are unsure whether this is right for you, please speak to a qualified professional before you take part.
These retreats are not crisis support, and they are not for emergencies. If at any point you feel significantly distressed or unwell, please stop and seek appropriate professional support before continuing. Insight can create a sense of urgency, so we suggest you let the work settle before making any major relational, financial, or life decisions.
By buying and taking part, you acknowledge that:
• your participation is voluntary, and you are responsible for your own wellbeing, choices, and actions
• you may pause, skip, or stop any part of a retreat at any time
• the retreats are educational and reflective, and are not therapy or medical treatment
• we do not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, or crisis support
• no particular emotional, psychological, relational, financial, or life outcome is guaranteed
12. Using our website
You may use our website only for lawful purposes. You must not use it fraudulently, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or the systems behind it, introduce anything malicious, or reproduce any part of it for commercial purposes without our consent. We may withdraw or change the site, or restrict access to it, at any time, and we are not liable if it is unavailable for any period.
13. Our responsibility for loss or damage
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or that is caused by something outside our reasonable control.
The materials are supplied for personal use only. We are not liable for any business loss, such as loss of profit, income, or opportunity. If we are found liable to you for any reason, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the retreat in question.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for fraud.
14. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any delay or failure to meet our obligations that is caused by something beyond our reasonable control, such as failure of telecommunications networks, or events like fire, flood, or other serious disruption. If such an event happens, we will let you know and do what we reasonably can to limit the effect.
15. Your information
We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it.
16. Other important terms
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, and we will tell you if we do. You may not transfer your rights or obligations to anyone else without our agreement. This contract is between you and us, and no one else has any right to enforce it. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
17. Which laws apply and where you can bring claims
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute can be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland you may also bring proceedings in Scotland, and if you live in Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland.
